Home Health Care Agency - Data Source
In order to help consumers in their search and evaluation of home health care agencies the National Eldercare Alliance© (NEA) provides an easy to read and understand version of the Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) survey data. This data reflects the results of state inspections for approximately 8,000 Medicare certified home health care agencies in the United States.
The CMS data derives its data from two sources:
  • The OSCAR database - CMS's online survey, certification and reporting database.
  • MDS Repository - Medicare's national database (MDS) which consists of ten quality measures depicting the percentages of patients receiving home health care compared to the national average for each of the ten characteristics.
Important Note: This data only shows and pertains to those home health care agencies that are certified by Medicare. It also does not contain home care agencies.
